The Good Life

Is it possible that the ‘good’ part that is our part of ‘Well done, thou good and faithful servant’ is ‘submission’? I believe so, as God looks for submission as much as He does faithfulness. In fact, I believe faithfulness is rooted in submission. And submission is rooted in trust (faith, belief), which is fostered by Love (“God IS Love”). God loves it when we trust Him to the point of obedience because it brings Him pleasure to see us blessed and fulfilled! Hence, Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments”, because in a Loving relationship, the Caregiver wants to see the receiver protected, provided for, and properly directed in Life. The opposite of this is us ‘doing our own thing’ which is really nothing more than ‘God at a distance’ (idolatry). dkb, 7/14/12.
